Live Cricket Auction Bidding

This is the screen the auctioneer actually drives on the night: one player up at a time, a running bid, and a single tap to confirm sold or move to unsold. Committees that used to shout numbers across a hall and note them on a whiteboard switch to this because disputes about "who bid last" simply stop happening — the log is right there.

Why organizers use this

  • One active lot at a time, so the room never loses track of what's being bid on
  • Bid history per player is recorded automatically, no manual scorebook
  • Sold and unsold decisions update team purses in the same instant
  • Works from any laptop with a browser — no auctioneer-side install
  • Undo window for the last bid catches fat-finger entries during fast rounds

Typical use cases

  • A weekend box cricket league auctioning 60 players across 4 hours
  • A corporate tournament running bidding from a conference room laptop
  • An academy auction where parents watch bids update on a side screen

Frequently asked questions

Do all committee members need to be in the same room?
No — the console works over the internet, so a co-organizer can drive bidding remotely while others watch the public display locally. Most clubs still prefer one person on the console for consistency during fast rounds.
What happens if a bid is entered wrong?
There's a short undo window right after a bid is placed, so you can retract a mistaken entry before the lot moves on. Once a player is marked sold, that decision is final and reflected in the results.
Can bidding be in points instead of rupees?
Yes. Each auction chooses a bid unit — points or money — and every screen (console, team view, public display) uses that unit consistently, which matters for leagues that run a mock-currency draft.
Does the console need a stable high-speed connection?
A normal 4G or venue Wi-Fi connection is enough; the console isn't streaming video. If connectivity drops briefly, the auction state is saved server-side so you can refresh and continue.
